Privacy
Short version: your projects stay on your Mac. GafferGrid has no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and we never sell data. A few optional features talk to outside services; they are all listed below.
Who is responsible
The data controller is DeepInkCode, CVR 45115666, Denmark. Questions about your data: hello@gaffergrid.com.
The app
- Your projects (scenes, drawings, lamps, cables, gear and shot lists, scout photos) are stored only on your Mac. We never receive them. Exported files go where you put them.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. To unlock Pro, the app uses RevenueCat (USA) to check your purchase. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, the purchase receipt from Apple, basic device information and your IP address, not your name or email. Legal basis: performing our contract with you. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
- Feedback: when you choose Send feedback, GafferGrid opens a new email in your own mail app. Nothing is sent until you press send there yourself. The email contains only what you write and, if you leave it ticked, technical details (app version, operating system, language and recent error messages). It never includes project names or content. You can see the exact text before sending. A screenshot is attached only if you choose it. Legal basis: your own request, and our legitimate interest in answering you and fixing errors. We keep feedback emails only as long as we need them to help you.
- Crash reports reach us only if you have chosen to share them with developers in macOS settings. They are sent by Apple and contain no project data.
- Version 1.0 does not use your position, maps or weather. If a later version adds them, this policy will be updated first.
- Links in the app (Google Maps, makers' product pages) open in your browser, where those sites' own policies apply.
The website
- gaffergrid.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no external fonts or scripts. If you switch between dark and light, that choice is remembered in your own browser only.
Transfers outside the EU
RevenueCat may process data in the USA. It relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the EU's standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for access to the data we hold about you, or for its correction, deletion or a copy (portability), ask us to restrict processing, object to it, and withdraw consent at any time. Write to hello@gaffergrid.com; it's free, and we answer within one month. Since we don't hold your projects, most requests concern purchases or feedback. You can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet, Carl Jacobsens Vej 35, 2500 Valby, Denmark.
Children and changes
GafferGrid is a professional tool and is not aimed at children under 13. If this policy changes, we update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
